Kuringai National Park

Cloudy days
silver lining: best days to find waterfalls

The top of the waterfall

Middle of the waterfall

Lower waterfall

I've got to admit that this spot is pretty hard place to find with the lack of information on the internet, but if you do, it's a beautiful hidden treasure.  It's called Upper Gledhill Falls, located just off the road of McCarrs Creek Road. It's actually along the road and you'll see a very small bridge and they'll be a small opening on the left hand side of the top of the waterfall. There's a small area to park your car and you can make your way down to the waterfall. There's no clear trail so hiking through rocks and trees are a very sure possibility. I was tempted to swim in the water, but didn't bring my swimmers and I didn't know how clean the water was. There's a rope that locals probably put there to swing off so I'll probably come back another day to test it out :)

Tip: there's no clear locations but you can find it if you put the coordinates into google maps (thank goodness we had signal)

America Bay Trail

Edge cliff of a dry waterfall
This trail is probably one of the shortest found in Kuringai National Park, but since we were strapped for time it was the perfect trail with a high pay off of a view. This trail is approximately 1.0km, it's a relatively easy trail with rocky terrain that you need to be aware of. We got to the end and I guess it didn't rain enough because when we got to where the waterfall was supposed to be, it just seemed like a cliff edge. Nevertheless, always a silver lining because I got to take some awesome shots of the view.

It costs around $11 to get into Kuringai National Park, but there are some entrances where you can get in for free, just a matter of scoping it out.
